The Norfolk 009 Group was formed in November 1984 when Graham Watling and Ray Fothergill met to discuss a proposed Group in the Norfolk area. By November 1985 five of us were meeting regularly at members houses. At the early meetings we were mainly enjoying running host members static layouts, watching videos and passing around books.

New members joined up to 1990 and the Group sometimes had nine people at their meetings. Our Group has no formal rules, we simply stipulate that anyone attending our meetings must be a member of the 009 Society or that they will be in the near future, and any regular member should be able to host a meeting at their house occasionally.
As a group we have exhibited two modular layouts - we first exhibited the Mk1 Modules in March 1992 at St.Andrews Hall, Norwich and continued to exhibit these until 1998 in Newmarket where we held a 009 Society Members Day in conjunction with the Essex Group.
Since 1998, there have been six to eight regular members of the Group building and exhibiting their own layouts and the Group's second modular project, pictures of which you can find elsewhere on this site.
