Castleby

By September 2000 we had our first test session with the new modules and managed to get several units joined together. In June 2001 they made their first public appearance at a local school fete, though a few problems presented themselves.

“Castleby” became the name of the complete modular project for exhibition purposes.

More modules are under construction for future showing.

A scene on the “Castleby” module. This end of the module features scratch-built buildings at the front including a model based on the Wantage Tramway station building. The low relief buildings at the back are Townstreet products.

“Castleby” is usually the end module when we exhibit and is the terminus station, featuring passenger station, goods facilities and an engine shed. There is also a Castle frontage modelled from Linka.
An evening goods train arrives at Castleby, the loco is a Chivers Quarry Bagnall on an Ibertren chassis. Seen, beyond the station is the goods shed and castle. (Photo: M. Thornton)
