After Graham and Ray saw a modular 009 layout at an ExpoNG exhibition in 1990 we put forward a proposal to the Group to build a modular 009 layout, what we now call our Mk.1 Modular Layout. The suggestion was received quite cautiously, but the meetings became much more interesting with the planning, building, wiring and eventually operating the modules.

We first exhibited the Mk1 Modules in March 1992 at St.Andrews Hall, Norwich, and continued to exhibit these until 1998 in Newmarket where we held a 009 Society Members Day in conjunction with the Essex Group.
These modules have now been replaced by the Mk2 Modules, each of which has its own page in the menu
